Installation Steps

1. Preparation

  • Clean the installation area thoroughly
  • Clear a space larger than your intended installation area
  • Ensure you have enough room to measure accurately
  • Purchase appropriate mounting screws for your floor type
  • Sort your plates into front and back pairs using the markings

2. Plate Layout

  • Start with a "FRONT" marked plate on the left front position
  • Place the other "FRONT" marked plate on the right front position
  • From the inside edge of the front left plate, measure exactly 397mm to mark the position for the front right plate's inside edge
  • Place the "BACK" marked plates behind the front plates
  • From the inside edge of each front plate, measure 120mm back to mark the position for the rear plates
  • Double-check all measurements and ensure all markings are facing upward
  • Use your level to ensure alignment

3. Marking and Drilling

  • Once measurements are verified and plate orientation is correct, mark the mounting holes of each plate
  • Remove the plates while maintaining your markings for orientation
  • Drill pilot holes appropriate for your floor type and chosen screws

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN - use a hand screwdriver to fix the plates down, although this is very strong plastic, going to town with an impact drill could break the fixing holes, please use your best judgement when fixing.

4. Securing the Plates

  • Position each plate over the pilot holes, ensuring "FRONT" and "BACK" markings are in correct positions
  • Before final tightening, verify:
    • All plate markings are oriented correctly
    • 397mm between inside edges (left to right)
    • 120mm between inside edges (front to back)
  • Tighten all screws firmly, but do not over-tighten
  • Double-check that all plates are secure and measurements remain correct

5. Final Setup

  • Place your ToughSystem 2.0 box within the mounted base plates
  • The box should fit snugly between all four plates with minimal play
  • Test the stability by gently pushing the box from different angles

Usage Tips

  • Clean between the plates and box regularly to maintain a secure fit
  • When removing the tool box, lift straight up to avoid catching on the plates

Safety Notes

  • Always wear appropriate safety gear during installation
  • If installing on a vehicle floor, consult your vehicle manufacturer's guidelines

Troubleshooting

  • If box doesn't fit properly:
    • Verify "FRONT" and "BACK" plates are in correct positions
